Roque started MJ Electric in 2010 with one truck, a C-10 license, and a promise: every job would be done the way he'd want it done at his own house. Seventeen years later, that's still the standard.
We're a small family-run crew. When you call MJ Electric, you're talking to someone who's been on the truck. When we show up, it's usually the same crew you'll see the next time you need us.
We work across San Diego County. From single-panel service calls to full whole-home rewires. Residential is our core, and we take on selective commercial work too. If it needs a licensed electrician and it's electrical, we've probably done it before.

MJ Electric founded
Roque gets his California C-10 electrical contractor license and starts MJ Electric with one truck. First customers come from Angie's List and neighborhood word of mouth.
Second truck, first hire
Added a second work truck and hired our first full-time electrician. Doubled capacity without changing standards.
Panel upgrades become a specialty
As older San Diego homes started needing more power, panel upgrades quickly became our most-requested service. We've completed hundreds of 100-to-200 amp upgrades countywide.
EV charger installs take off
As EV adoption exploded in San Diego, Level 2 EV charger installs became a growing part of our residential work.

The highest tier of electrical certification. Requires years of field experience under a licensed electrician, passing rigorous state exams, and demonstrating deep code and safety knowledge. Roque has held Master Electrician status for over a decade.

California electrical contractor license, active since 2010. License #951926. The state credential that allows us to legally pull permits and perform electrical work in California.
Bonded & Insured
The bond gives you a way to recover money if a contractor performs faulty or unfinished work, doesn't pay employees, or violates state contracting law. Insurance covers property damage and injuries on the job. Both required by California, both filed and current.
