Terms of Service
Effective date: July 20, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MJ Electric website (mjelectricsandiego.com) and the electrical services we provide. By using our website or hiring us for work, you agree to these Terms.
1. About us
MJ Electric is a California-licensed electrical contractor (CA C-10 License #951926) operating in San Diego County. We are family-owned and have been in business since 2010.
2. Use of this website
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes. You will not:
Use the site in a way that damages, disables, or impairs the site
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or our systems
Use any automated system (bots, scrapers) to access the site
Submit false or misleading information through our forms
We reserve the right to refuse service or restrict access to anyone for any reason.
3. Estimates and quotes
Free written estimates. We provide free written estimates for electrical work. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise noted.
Scope changes. If we encounter unexpected conditions or scope changes during a job, we will stop work, explain the situation, and issue a written change order for your approval before proceeding. No charges will be added to your bill without written approval.
Site conditions. Estimates assume normal working conditions and access. Unusual conditions (hidden damage, code violations, hazardous materials, etc.) may require adjustments to the scope and price.
4. Services
We provide residential and commercial electrical services throughout San Diego County, including panel upgrades, EV charger installation, lighting, whole-home rewiring, outlets, switches, safety inspections, and emergency service. All work is performed to current California electrical code and, where required, includes permit and inspection.
5. Payment terms
Payment is due upon completion of work unless other terms are agreed in writing. We accept credit card, check, and other payment methods as arranged.
Any invoices unpaid after 30 days may be subject to a late fee and, if necessary, referred for collection. You are responsible for any collection costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees.
6. Warranty
We warrant our workmanship for one year from the date of completion. This warranty covers defects in the electrical work we performed. It does not cover:
Damage caused by others after we complete the work
Damage from misuse, alterations, or normal wear and tear
Manufacturer defects in equipment or materials (these are covered by the manufacturer's warranty)
Issues caused by pre-existing conditions we could not reasonably identify
Manufacturer warranties on parts and equipment pass through to you.
To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period at (619) 980-5620 or contact@mjelectricsandiego.com.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel scheduled work by contacting us at least 24 hours in advance without charge. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a trip fee if a crew has already been dispatched.
For work exceeding $500, California law gives you the right to cancel within three business days of signing a contract. Written cancellation notice must be delivered to us within that period.
8. Property and access
You are responsible for providing safe access to the work area and disclosing any known conditions (asbestos, active leaks, structural issues, etc.) that could affect the work. We are not responsible for damage caused by undisclosed conditions.
We will take reasonable care with your property. Some jobs require opening walls, ceilings, or floors. Patching, painting, and finish work are not included in our scope unless specifically noted in the estimate.
9. Limitation of liability
Our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific job giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. This includes loss of use, loss of business, loss of data, or damage to belongings caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control (power outages, utility company work, force majeure events, etc.).
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything else that cannot be limited under California law.
10. Intellectual property
The content, design, logo, and photos on our website are owned by MJ Electric or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written consent.
11. Third-party links
Our website may link to third-party sites (Angi, Google, etc.). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will reflect the latest version. Continued use of our website or services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
